Do I need to be fit to start CrossFit?

Not at all. Every workout is scalable to your current ability, from complete beginner to experienced athlete. Our coaches will meet you where you are and help you progress safely.

What should I wear and bring to my first class?

Wear comfortable training clothes and supportive trainers. Oh and do not forget your water bottle.

What is a WOD?

WOD stands for 'Workout of the Day'. It is the main training session in a CrossFit class and combines functional movements such as weightlifting, gymnastics and cardio into a varied, coached workout.

Do I need to complete a Fundamentals course before joining CrossFit?

If you’re new to CrossFit, we recommend starting with our fundamentals course. It’s designed to introduce you to the key movements, techniques and terminology you’ll see in our classes, so you can train safely and confidently from day one. If you already have CrossFit experience, you may be able to join our regular classes straight away. Just get in touch with the CrossFit Revival Basingstoke team and we’ll help you find the best way to get started.

What is your Fundamentals course?

Our Fundamentals course is a 3-session programme designed for anyone new to CrossFit. It covers the basic movements, safety points and gym etiquette so you can join our regular classes with confidence. The course costs £75 for all three sessions.

Can I try a class before joining?

Yes. We offer a free trial class so you can experience the coaching, community and training before choosing a membership. Book your free trial through our website.

What classes do you offer?

We offer CrossFit WODs, Weightlifting, Engine (cardio conditioning), Gymnastics and Hyrox. There is something for every goal and fitness level.

How do your memberships work?

We offer a range of monthly memberships including, Unlimited, Lite, Open Gym, Hyrox and a 10-class Pack. Drop-in options are also available for visiting CrossFit athletes. Full details are on our Memberships page.

Can I train at Open Gym only?

Yes. Our Open Gym membership gives you access to the gym during Open Gym hours to follow your own programme or work on specific skills.

What if I have an injury or limitation?

Tell your coach before class and we will scale or substitute movements to keep you training safely while you recover or work around a limitation.

What is HYROX and can I train for it?

HYROX is a global fitness race combining running with functional workout stations. We are an official HYROX Training Club and offer dedicated HYROX classes, race-specific programming and technical coaching.

Where are you based and is there parking?

We are at Unit 7 & 8 Joule Road, Basingstoke, RG21 6XH. There is parking available at the gym for members and visitors.

What are your opening hours?

Monday to Friday we are open 05:00 — 21:30, Saturday 08:00 — 20:00 and Sunday 07:00 — 20:00. Bank holiday hours are posted on the timetable page.
